CAPTAIN BARNACLE

Captain Barnacle brings you classic pirate movies, history and reviews!
Not much is known about Captain James Barnacle before the mischievous Danvers, horror host of Demented Features, set his caretaker, Ivy Garland, on a blind date with the Captain. What Danvers thought would be a prank turned into a perfect match for both Ivy and Captain Barnacle. The pair set off on the open sea seeking adventure and pirate treasure--not to be heard from for years--until now!
We know "Barnacle" is not the Captain's real name--that is a closely guarded secret. Captain Barnacle got his nom de guerre by running his victims under the keel of his ship, The Comet, where the barnacles would slice them to ribbons. The Captain began answering to Barnacle when he declared that, "Captain Keel-haul just sounded silly."

No stranger to Pirates

Early in his career, actor John Faust  (Captain Barnacle) served as a tour guide in historic Charleston, South Carolina--having guided many guests through the same streets many pirates and patriots of the 17th and 18th Century called home! Charleston Harbor, where Blackbeard blockaded the city and held high-ranking officials hostage, The Old Exchange and Provost Dungeon where many pirates where held prisoner before being executed, Oyster Point--where Stede Bonnet was hung for piracy in 1718--and other locals in and around the historic city.

John spent his college summers at Fort William Henry on Lake George in New York also as a guide. The historic French and Indian War era fort was the location of the famous real-life battle and massacre that James Fenimore Cooper described in his book, The Last of the Mohicans.
John trained at the actor's conservatory at State University of New York at Purchase and furthered his education in directing at Texas State University. He is a professional actor and voice actor, costumer, and historic researcher. John is founding artistic director of Weird City Theatre Company in Austin, Texas and Producer of Demented Features.
